دافع رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) جياني إنفانتينو عن بطولة كأس العالم 2026، رافضًا الانتقادات الموجهة إلى الحدث، ومتهمًا بعض منتقديه بنشر ما وصفه بـ«الكراهية والشائعات والروايات غير الدقيقة».

وقال إنفانتينو إن التركيز على الانتقادات أدى إلى تجاهل الأجواء الإيجابية التي عاشها ملايين المشجعين حول العالم خلال البطولة، مؤكدًا أن المونديال كان مناسبة جمعت الجماهير وعززت قيم الوحدة والاندماج والأمان.

وأضاف رئيس الفيفا في تصريحاته: «بينما ينشغل البعض بالانتقاد من خلف الشاشات والأقلام، فإننا في الفيفا نعمل في قلب الحدث، ونبذل جهودنا لتقديم أفضل بطولة في العالم».

وأكد إنفانتينو أن البطولة لم تشهد أي أحداث عنف أو مشكلات أمنية، مشيرًا إلى أن الأجواء اتسمت بالمتعة والسعادة، وقال إن مستوى الأمن وصل إلى «100%».

وكان الاتحاد الدولي قد واجه انتقادات خلال البطولة بسبب عدد من الملفات، من بينها القيود المرتبطة بالتأشيرات الأمريكية التي أثرت على حضور بعض الجماهير والمسؤولين، إضافة إلى المخاوف المتعلقة بمشاركة منتخبات من دول تشهد أزمات وصراعات.

كما تطرق إنفانتينو إلى الجدل المرتبط بالقرارات التحكيمية، موضحًا أن الأخطاء أو اختلاف القرارات بشأن العقوبات أمر طبيعي في كرة القدم، وأنها تحدث أيضًا في أكبر البطولات المحلية حول العالم.

واختتم حديثه بالقول إن بعض الجهات التي تنتقد هذه الممارسات تتبعها في مسابقاتها المحلية، معتبرًا أن بطولة كأس العالم 2026 قدمت صورة إيجابية عن كرة القدم باعتبارها مساحة للتقارب والاحتفاء بين الشعوب.

The President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, defended the 2026 World Cup, rejecting the criticisms directed at the event and accusing some of its critics of spreading what he described as "hate, rumors, and inaccurate narratives."

Infantino stated that the focus on criticism has led to the neglect of the positive atmosphere experienced by millions of fans around the world during the tournament, emphasizing that the World Cup was an occasion that brought fans together and promoted values of unity, inclusion, and safety.

The FIFA president added in his remarks: "While some are busy criticizing from behind screens and pens, we at FIFA are working at the heart of the event, making our efforts to deliver the best tournament in the world."

Infantino confirmed that the tournament did not witness any incidents of violence or security issues, noting that the atmosphere was characterized by enjoyment and happiness, and stated that the level of security reached "100%."

The international federation faced criticism during the tournament due to several issues, including the restrictions related to U.S. visas that affected the attendance of some fans and officials, as well as concerns regarding the participation of teams from countries experiencing crises and conflicts.

Infantino also addressed the controversy surrounding refereeing decisions, clarifying that mistakes or differing decisions regarding penalties are natural in football, and that they also occur in the largest domestic tournaments around the world.

He concluded his remarks by saying that some entities that criticize these practices follow them in their local competitions, considering that the 2026 World Cup presented a positive image of football as a space for closeness and celebration among peoples.
