نفى الأمين العام السابق للاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، إبراهيم القاسم، صحة ما يتم تداوله بشأن ارتباطه بانتخابات الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، مؤكدًا أن جميع الأنباء المتداولة حول مشاركته أو دعمه لأي تحركات انتخابية لا أساس لها من الصحة.

وقال القاسم، عبر حسابه الشخصي في منصة «إكس»، إنه تلقى خلال الساعات الماضية عددًا من الاتصالات والاستفسارات بشأن ما يُثار حول علاقته بالانتخابات، موضحًا أن ذلك «غير صحيح جملةً وتفصيلاً»، وأنه لا تربطه أي علاقة، لا من قريب ولا من بعيد، بأي تحركات أو حملات تخص انتخابات الاتحاد.

وأضاف أنه يتمنى من الجميع تحري الدقة وعدم تداول المعلومات غير الصحيحة، داعيًا إلى الاعتماد على المصادر الرسمية قبل نشر أو تناقل أي أخبار تتعلق بالانتخابات.

وتأتي توضيحات القاسم في وقت تشهد فيه الأوساط الرياضية تحركات متسارعة وترقبًا متزايدًا مع بدء المشاورات الخاصة بالترشح لرئاسة الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، لاختيار رئيس جديد خلفًا لياسر المسحل، الذي أعلن استقالته من منصبه، وسط تداول أسماء عدة يُتوقع دخولها سباق الانتخابات خلال الفترة القادمة.

The former Secretary-General of the Saudi Football Federation, Ibrahim Al-Qasim, denied the validity of the rumors regarding his connection to the elections of the Saudi Football Federation, confirming that all the news circulating about his participation or support for any electoral movements is unfounded.

Al-Qasim stated, via his personal account on the "X" platform, that he received several calls and inquiries in recent hours regarding what is being raised about his relationship with the elections, clarifying that this is "not true in any way," and that he has no connection, directly or indirectly, to any movements or campaigns related to the elections of the federation.

He added that he hopes everyone will strive for accuracy and refrain from circulating incorrect information, calling for reliance on official sources before publishing or sharing any news related to the elections.

Al-Qasim's clarifications come at a time when the sports community is witnessing rapid movements and increasing anticipation with the commencement of consultations regarding candidacy for the presidency of the Saudi Football Federation, to select a new president to succeed Yasser Al-Mashel, who announced his resignation from his position, amid the circulation of several names expected to enter the electoral race in the upcoming period.
