أعلنت وزارة الداخلية العراقية تفكيك شبكة دولية لتهريب المخدرات، اتخذت من الأراضي العراقية «محطة ترانزيت» لنقل السموم إلى إحدى دول الجوار. وأسفرت العملية، التي نُفذت بناءً على معلومات استخبارية دقيقة بالتعاون مع جهاز أمن إقليم كوردستان، عن ضبط 38 كيلوغراماً من مادة الكريستال كانت مخبأة باحترافية داخل إطارات إحدى المركبات، مع إلقاء القبض على جميع أفراد الشبكة.
وفي مؤتمر صحفي مشترك، كشف المتحدث باسم الوزارة، العميد عباس بهادلي، عن حصيلة الحملات الأمنية الممتدة منذ 2023؛ إذ تجاوزت ضبطيات المواد المخدرة 16 طناً و800 كيلوغرام.
وعلى الصعيد القضائي، أصدرت المحاكم 380 حكماً بالإعدام و150 حكماً بالسجن المؤبد ضد تجار المخدرات، إضافة إلى إطلاق 190 مذكرة قبض دولية لملاحقة المتهمين عبر الحدود.
The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced the dismantling of an international drug trafficking network that had made Iraqi territory a "transit station" for transporting toxins to one of the neighboring countries. The operation, which was carried out based on precise intelligence information in cooperation with the Kurdistan Region Security Agency, resulted in the seizure of 38 kilograms of crystal meth that were professionally hidden inside the tires of one of the vehicles, along with the arrest of all members of the network.
In a joint press conference, the ministry's spokesperson, Brigadier Abbas Bahadli, revealed the results of security campaigns that have been ongoing since 2023; the seizures of narcotic substances exceeded 16 tons and 800 kilograms.
On the judicial front, the courts issued 380 death sentences and 150 life imprisonment sentences against drug traffickers, in addition to issuing 190 international arrest warrants to pursue the suspects across borders.
