تسبب طقم منتخب مصر للسيدات، في جدل كبير قبل مباراته الأولى في كأس أمم أفريقيا للسيدات أمام زامبيا، بسبب ارتداء قميص منتخب الرجال والذي يحمل سبع نجوم.

وفي مقطع فيديو نشره حساب مختص بالكرة النسائية تابع للاتحاد الأفريقي لكرة القدم، قبل المباراة، ظهرت لاعبات مصر بالقميص الذي يحمل فوق شعار الاتحاد المصري سبع نجوم.

وتشير النجوم السبع إلى عدد مرات فوز منتخب مصر للرجال بكأس أمم أفريقيا، بينما يشارك منتخب مصر للسيدات في كأس أمم أفريقيا المقامة بالمغرب، للمرة الثالثة في تاريخه، ولم يسبق أن تخطى الدور الأول وفق التقرير الذي بثه موقع «RT».

يذكر أن منتخب مصر للرجال ظهر بالقميص ذاته خلال مباراته الودية ضد البرازيل استعدادا لنهائيات بطولة كأس العالم 2026، مع اختلاف لون الأرقام، قبل أن يطلب الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم «فيفا» إزالة النجوم أثناء مشاركة «الفراعنة» في المونديال الذي جرى بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا والمكسيك.

The Egyptian women's national team caused a major controversy before their first match in the Women's Africa Cup of Nations against Zambia, due to wearing the men's national team jersey which features seven stars.

In a video posted by a women's football account affiliated with the African Football Confederation before the match, the Egyptian players appeared in the jersey that has seven stars above the logo of the Egyptian Football Association.

The seven stars indicate the number of times the Egyptian men's team has won the Africa Cup of Nations, while the Egyptian women's team is participating in the Africa Cup of Nations held in Morocco for the third time in its history, and has never advanced past the first round according to a report broadcast by "RT".

It is worth noting that the Egyptian men's team wore the same jersey during their friendly match against Brazil in preparation for the 2026 World Cup finals, with a different color for the numbers, before FIFA requested the removal of the stars during the "Pharaohs'" participation in the World Cup held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
