10 آلاف مادة نادرة تستعيد حياتها في مركز «الترميم» بمكتبة الملك عبدالعزيز - وكالة البوصلة الإخبارية, اليوم الأحد 26 يوليو 2026 08:27 مساءً

حقق مركز الترميم والمعالجة بمكتبة الملك عبدالعزيز العامة إنجازًا جديدًا، بعد أن أنجز ترميم ومعالجة أكثر من 10,861 مادة من مقتنيات المكتبة؛ شملت الصور التاريخية والوثائق والخرائط والكتب النادرة والمخطوطات والصحف والدوريات؛ وذلك وفق أحدث الأساليب العلمية والمهنية في الترميم والمعالجة والتعقيم والصيانة الوقائية، بما يسهم في المحافظة على هذه المقتنيات وإطالة عمرها وضمان استدامتها للأجيال القادمة.

ترميمٌ يحفظ التراث

وشملت أعمال المركز ترميم مجموعة من الصور التاريخية النادرة التي توثّق الحرمين الشريفين وما شهده محيطهما من تطورات تاريخية وعمرانية، إلى جانب صور للخيل العربية والإسطبلات الخاصة بعدد من ملوك وأمراء المملكة العربية السعودية، بما تحمله هذه الصور من قيمة تاريخية ووطنية توثق جوانب مهمة من تاريخ المملكة وتراثها.
وعمل المركز على ترميم مجموعة من الصور التاريخية لمدينة الطائف، توثق معالمها ومبانيها وجوانب من حياتها الاجتماعية والعمرانية في فترات زمنية مختلفة، بما يسهم في المحافظة على الذاكرة البصرية للمدينة وإتاحتها للباحثين والمهتمين.
وفي مجال الصحف والدوريات التاريخية، عالج المركز ورمّم عددًا من المواد النادرة؛ من أبرزها عدد خاص من جريدة الرياض بعنوان (الرياض بين الماضي والحاضر)، حيث تمت معالجة صفحاته وترميمها وتدعيمها مع المحافظة على الشكل الأساسي للجريدة.
وشملت الأعمال العدد رقم 14 من مجلة صوت الشرق، الصادر في ربيع الأول عام 1373هـ الموافق 1953م، وهو عدد خاص عن المملكة العربية السعودية في عهد الملك سعود، إضافة إلى العدد رقم 960 من جريدة الخواطر، الصادر في 17 ربيع الأول 1395هـ الموافق 29 مارس 1975م، والمتضمن تغطية خاصة لوفاة الملك فيصل بن عبدالعزيز -رحمه الله-.
وخضعت هذه الدوريات لإجراءات علمية متخصصة شملت التنظيف والمعالجة والترميم والتدعيم، بما يحافظ على أوراقها الأصلية ويحد من تعرضها للمزيد من التلف، مع مراعاة عدم التأثير في هويتها أو شكلها التاريخي.

معالجة تصون المقتنيات

وفي مجال الخرائط، أنجز المركز معالجة وترميم آلاف الخرائط التاريخية النادرة؛ من بينها خريطة للجزيرة العربية تعود إلى عام 1771م، في طبعة صادرة عام 1789م، ومنفذة بتقنية الحفر على النحاس.
وتغطي الخريطة مساحة واسعة من الجزيرة العربية، وتعرض تقسيماتها الكلاسيكية الثلاثة: بلاد العرب السعيدة، وبلاد العرب الصحراوية، وبلاد العرب الصخرية، كما تتميز بما تتضمنه من معلومات جغرافية عن عدد من المواقع والمدن، مثل الدرعية ورماح والمذنب والحوطة وأبوعريش، إلى جانب تصميمها الفني الذي يشتمل على إطار مزخرف للعنوان ورسوم نباتية.
ويولي مركز الترميم والمعالجة أعمال التعقيم عناية خاصة، باعتبارها من المراحل الأساسية التي لا يمكن الاستغناء عنها قبل البدء في إجراءات المعالجة والترميم.

تعقيم يضمن السلامة

وتُنفذ أعمال التعقيم وفق إجراءات مدروسة تتناسب مع طبيعة كل مادة وحالتها، بما يحقق سلامة العاملين ويحافظ على المقتنيات من انتشار مسببات التلف، دون إحداث تأثيرات ضارة في مكوناتها الأصلية.
وفي إطار دوره المعرفي والتدريبي، بدأ المركز في تنظيم ورش عمل ودورات تدريبية متخصصة في مجالات الترميم والمعالجة والتعقيم والصيانة الوقائية وحفظ المقتنيات الثقافية.
وتُقدم هذه البرامج بصورة فردية أو جماعية، بما يلائم احتياجات المتدربين والجهات المستفيدة، ويعزز نقل الخبرات المهنية ونشر الوعي بالممارسات العلمية السليمة في حفظ التراث الثقافي.
ومن أبرز نجاحات المركز أيضًا استمراره في استقبال طلبات الخدمات الخارجية المقدمة للأفراد والجهات الحكومية والخاصة، حيث يتولى فحص المقتنيات وتقييم حالتها وتنفيذ ما تحتاج إليه من أعمال تعقيم أو معالجة أو ترميم، وفق طبيعة كل مادة ودرجة التلف التي تعرضت لها.

خدمة المجتمع والمحافظة على المقتنيات

ويأتي استمرار هذه الخدمات انطلاقًا من دور مكتبة الملك عبدالعزيز العامة في خدمة المجتمع والمحافظة على المقتنيات ذات القيمة التاريخية والمعرفية، وتعزيز التعاون مع الأفراد والمؤسسات في مجال حماية التراث الثقافي والوثائقي.
ويواصل مركز الترميم والمعالجة بمكتبة الملك عبدالعزيز العامة أداء رسالته في صون التراث الثقافي، من خلال الجمع بين الترميم والمعالجة والتعقيم والصيانة الوقائية، وتنفيذ البرامج التدريبية المتخصصة، وتقديم الخدمات الفنية للأفراد والجهات، بما يسهم في حماية المقتنيات الثقافية والمحافظة عليها للأجيال القادمة..

The Restoration and Treatment Center at King Abdulaziz Public Library has achieved a new milestone, having restored and treated more than 10,861 items from the library's collections; these included historical photographs, documents, maps, rare books, manuscripts, newspapers, and periodicals; all carried out using the latest scientific and professional methods in restoration, treatment, sterilization, and preventive maintenance, contributing to the preservation of these items, extending their lifespan, and ensuring their sustainability for future generations.

Restoration that Preserves Heritage

The center's work included the restoration of a collection of rare historical photographs documenting the Two Holy Mosques and the historical and architectural developments in their surroundings, alongside images of Arabian horses and stables belonging to several kings and princes of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, reflecting the historical and national value these images hold in documenting important aspects of the Kingdom's history and heritage.
The center also worked on restoring a collection of historical photographs of the city of Taif, documenting its landmarks, buildings, and aspects of its social and architectural life during different time periods, contributing to the preservation of the city's visual memory and making it accessible to researchers and interested parties.
In the field of historical newspapers and periodicals, the center treated and restored a number of rare materials; among the most notable is a special issue of Al-Riyadh newspaper titled (Al-Riyadh Between the Past and Present), where its pages were treated, restored, and reinforced while maintaining the original form of the newspaper.
The works included issue number 14 of the magazine Sawt Al-Sharq, published in the first month of 1373 AH corresponding to 1953 AD, which is a special issue about the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the reign of King Saud, in addition to issue number 960 of Al-Khawatir newspaper, published on the 17th of Rabi' al-Awwal 1395 AH corresponding to March 29, 1975 AD, which included special coverage of the death of King Faisal bin Abdulaziz - may God have mercy on him.
These periodicals underwent specialized scientific procedures that included cleaning, treatment, restoration, and reinforcement, preserving their original papers and minimizing further damage, while ensuring that their identity or historical form was not affected.

Treatment that Preserves Collections

In the field of maps, the center completed the treatment and restoration of thousands of rare historical maps; among them is a map of the Arabian Peninsula dating back to 1771 AD, printed in 1789 AD, and executed using copper engraving technology.
The map covers a wide area of the Arabian Peninsula and displays its three classical divisions: the Happy Arab Land, the Desert Arab Land, and the Rocky Arab Land, and is distinguished by the geographical information it contains about several locations and cities, such as Diriyah, Ramah, Al-Mudhnib, Al-Hawta, and Abu Arish, in addition to its artistic design that includes a decorative frame for the title and botanical illustrations.
The Restoration and Treatment Center pays special attention to sterilization processes, considering them as essential stages that cannot be overlooked before starting treatment and restoration procedures.

Sterilization that Ensures Safety

Sterilization works are carried out according to studied procedures that suit the nature and condition of each material, ensuring the safety of the workers and protecting the collections from the spread of damage-causing agents, without causing harmful effects on their original components.
As part of its knowledge and training role, the center has started organizing workshops and specialized training courses in the fields of restoration, treatment, sterilization, preventive maintenance, and the preservation of cultural collections.
These programs are offered individually or collectively, tailored to the needs of trainees and beneficiary entities, enhancing the transfer of professional expertise and raising awareness of sound scientific practices in preserving cultural heritage.
Among the center's notable successes is its continued reception of requests for external services provided to individuals and government and private entities, where it examines the collections, assesses their condition, and implements whatever is needed in terms of sterilization, treatment, or restoration, according to the nature of each material and the degree of damage it has suffered.

Community Service and Preservation of Collections

The continuation of these services stems from the role of King Abdulaziz Public Library in serving the community and preserving items of historical and intellectual value, and enhancing cooperation with individuals and institutions in the field of protecting cultural and documentary heritage.
The Restoration and Treatment Center at King Abdulaziz Public Library continues to fulfill its mission of safeguarding cultural heritage by combining restoration, treatment, sterilization, and preventive maintenance, implementing specialized training programs, and providing technical services to individuals and entities, contributing to the protection and preservation of cultural collections for future generations.
