كشف وزير الدفاع الباكستاني خواجة آصف أن الولايات المتحدة وإيران تقتربان من التوصل إلى نوع من التفاهم، في أعقاب محادثات بينهما بوساطة من إسلام آباد.

ونقلت وكالة «بلومبيرغ» اليوم (الثلاثاء) عن الوزير قوله: إن المؤشرات خلال اليومين أو الثلاثة الماضية توحي بإمكانية إحراز تقدم نحو اتفاق سلام. وقال آصف إن الأمور تتجه مجدداً لصالح ترتيبات سلام أو اتفاق، مؤكداً أن تحقيق سلام دائم يصب في مصلحة المنطقة.

وأفادت وكالة «مهر» الإيرانية في وقت سابق، بأن وزير الداخلية الباكستاني محسن رضا نقوي وصل إلى طهران، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، لإجراء محادثات مع مسؤولين إيرانيين.

من جانبه ، أعلن المتحدث باسم وزارةالخارجية القطرية ماجد الأنصاري، أن المحادثات بين سلطنة عمان وإيران بشأن مضيق هرمز وصلت إلى مرحلة متقدمة. وأضاف الأنصاري خلال مؤتمر صحفي في الدوحة اليوم أن قطر تلقت «ردود فعل إيجابية من البلدين»، معتبراً أن المفاوضات بلغت «نقطة مفصلية».

ونقلت وكالة «رويترز» عن مصادر أمنية، بأن هجوماً صاروخياً استهدف معسكراً للمعارضة الكردية الإيرانية شمال شرق أربيل، شمالي العراق، مشيرة إلى عدم ورود أنباء عن وقوع إصابات.

Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif revealed that the United States and Iran are nearing some form of understanding, following talks between them mediated by Islamabad.

Bloomberg reported today (Tuesday) that the minister stated: The indicators over the past two or three days suggest the possibility of progress towards a peace agreement. Asif mentioned that matters are once again leaning towards peace arrangements or an agreement, emphasizing that achieving lasting peace serves the interests of the region.

The Iranian news agency Mehr earlier reported that Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi arrived in Tehran today (Tuesday) for talks with Iranian officials.

For his part, the spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, Majid Al-Ansari, announced that talks between Oman and Iran regarding the Strait of Hormuz have reached an advanced stage. Al-Ansari added during a press conference in Doha today that Qatar has received "positive feedback from both countries," considering that the negotiations have reached a "critical point."

Reuters reported from security sources that a missile attack targeted a camp of the Iranian Kurdish opposition in northeastern Erbil, northern Iraq, noting that there were no reports of injuries.

Meanwhile, the UK Maritime Trade Operations announced on Tuesday that it had received a report of an incident involving a container ship and military forces in the Gulf of Oman. Reuters quoted maritime security sources as saying that the container ship is believed to have been hit by a missile off the coast of Pakistan.

According to preliminary assessments, the container ship "Vila Nova," flying the Panamanian flag, is believed to have been struck by a missile while sailing in the Gulf of Oman (Tuesday), approximately 71 nautical miles from the coast of Pakistan, according to the British maritime risk management group Vanguard.
