وأعلن برشلونة رسمياً أن الأهلي سيكون منافسه في المباراة الافتتاحية لموسم 2026-2027 على ملعبه، بالتزامن مع تقديم الفريق الكتالوني تشكيلته الجديدة أمام جماهيره، لتصبح المواجهة حدثاً استثنائياً للنادي المصري، الذي سيكون أول فريق مصري وأفريقي يشارك في كأس خوان غامبر.
وتأتي المباراة في توقيت مهم بالنسبة إلى الفريقين؛ إذ تمثل بالنسبة إلى برشلونة الظهور الأول على ملعبه في الموسم الجديد بعد إعادة افتتاح كامب نو، بينما تمنح الأهلي فرصة جديدة للظهور على الساحة الأوروبية ومواجهة أحد أكثر الأندية شهرة في العالم.
مواجهة ثالثة بين الأهلي وبرشلونة

A Third Encounter Between Al Ahly and Barcelona
The match on August 19 is not the first between the two clubs, as Al Ahly and Barcelona have previously met in two friendly matches, both of which ended in victories for the Spanish team.
The first encounter took place in Cairo in 1961, when Barcelona won 6-1, before the two teams met again in April 2007 during Al Ahly's celebrations of its 100th anniversary, with the match ending in a 4-0 victory for the Catalan team.
Thus, the Joan Gamper Trophy match will be the third match between the two teams, with Al Ahly eager to achieve a different result against its Spanish rival, while Barcelona aims to continue its historical dominance in encounters between the two teams.
