كشفت مصادر أمنية لوكالة «رويترز»، اليوم (السبت)، أن الدفاعات الجوية العراقية أسقطت طائرة مسيّرة بالقرب من القنصلية الأمريكية في أربيل بإقليم كردستان.

ولم تعلن أي جهة حتى الآن مسؤوليتها عن الهجوم، ولم ترد تقارير أولية عن وقوع إصابات أو أضرار مادية. وتأتي الحادثة في ظل تصاعد التوتر الإقليمي بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران.

وكان مدير مطار أربيل الدولي أحمد هوشيار أعلن، أمس (الجمعة)، أن حركة الطيران في المطار مستمرة ولم تشهد أي توقف، مشيراً إلى أن الوضع في المطار طبيعي.

وقال هوشيار إن الرحلات الجوية مستمرة ولم تتوقف، وإن الوضع طبيعي في مطار أربيل الدولي. ونقلت «رويترز» عن مصدرين أمنيين أن طائرة مسيّرة تحطمت قرب مطار أربيل الدولي في العراق، ما أدى إلى تعليق الرحلات الجوية مؤقتاً، قبل استئنافها مرة أخرى.

وأفاد شهود عيان بسماع دوي انفجارات قرب مطار أربيل الدولي الذي يضم قوات تابعة للتحالف الدولي بقيادة الولايات المتحدة، في إقليم كردستان في شمال العراق.

وسُمعت الانفجارات التي أعقبها تصاعد سحب دخان قرب المطار، بعد تفعيل أنظمة الدفاع الجوي، وفقاً للمراسل الذي شاهد كذلك طائرات مسيّرة تحلق فوق المدينة.

وتتعرض أربيل لهجمات بطائرات مسيّرة منذ تجدد التصعيد بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران في الشرق الأوسط.

Security sources revealed to Reuters today (Saturday) that Iraqi air defenses shot down a drone near the U.S. consulate in Erbil, in the Kurdistan region.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, and there have been no initial reports of injuries or material damage. This incident comes amid rising regional tensions between the United States and Iran.

Erbil International Airport Director Ahmed Hoshyar announced yesterday (Friday) that air traffic at the airport is ongoing and has not experienced any interruptions, indicating that the situation at the airport is normal.

Hoshyar stated that flights are continuing and have not stopped, and that the situation is normal at Erbil International Airport. Reuters reported from two security sources that a drone crashed near Erbil International Airport in Iraq, leading to a temporary suspension of flights before they resumed again.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing explosions near Erbil International Airport, which houses forces from the international coalition led by the United States, in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq.

The explosions, followed by rising clouds of smoke near the airport, were heard after air defense systems were activated, according to a reporter who also saw drones flying over the city.

Erbil has been subjected to drone attacks since the escalation between the United States and Iran renewed in the Middle East.
