واصلت سرعات الإنترنت في المملكة العربية السعودية تحقيق مستويات متقدمة، مدعومةً بتطور البنية التحتية الرقمية، إذ كشف تقرير «إنترنت السعودية 2025» في نسخته الخامسة، الصادر عن هيئة الاتصالات والفضاء والتقنية، ارتفاع وسيط سرعة تحميل الإنترنت المتنقل إلى 216 ميجابت في الثانية مقارنة بـ203 ميجابت في الثانية في العام السابق، لتصنف المملكة ضمن أعلى خمس دول في مجموعة العشرين في هذا المؤشر.

وأوضح التقرير أن معدل استهلاك بيانات الإنترنت المتنقل للفرد بلغ 53 جيجابايت شهرياً، وهو ما يعادل نحو ثلاثة أضعاف المتوسط العالمي، في مؤشر يعكس النمو المتواصل في استخدام الخدمات الرقمية وتطبيقاتها، مبيناً أن وسيط سرعة التحميل عبر شبكة الجيل الخامس (5G) بلغ 320 ميجابت في الثانية، فيما سجل وسيط زمن الاستجابة للإنترنت المتنقل 24 ملي ثانية.

وفي قطاع الإنترنت الثابت، ارتفع وسيط سرعة التحميل إلى 151 ميجابت في الثانية مقارنة بـ120.4 ميجابت في الثانية في العام السابق، فيما بلغ وسيط سرعة الرفع 73 ميجابت في الثانية، وسجل وسيط زمن الاستجابة 8 ملي ثوانٍ، وذلك وفق تحليل بيانات شركة «Ookla».

وأشار التقرير إلى أن إجمالي حركة بيانات الإنترنت في المملكة بلغ 69 مليون تيرابايت، توزعت بنسبة 56% لحركة البيانات المحلية و44% لحركة البيانات الدولية، في حين تقاسمت شبكتا الإنترنت المتنقل والثابت إجمالي حركة البيانات بالتساوي بنسبة 50% لكل منهما.

وتصدرت منطقة الرياض حجم حركة بيانات الإنترنت بنسبة 30.6%، تلتها منطقة مكة المكرمة بنسبة 20.5%، ثم المنطقة الشرقية بنسبة 16.8%.

ولفت التقرير النظر إلى أن نسبة تفعيل الإصدار السادس لبروتوكول الإنترنت (IPv6) لدى المستخدمين بلغت 67%، فيما وصل عدد الشبكات السعودية على الإنترنت (ASN) إلى نحو 200 شبكة، بما يعكس تطور البنية التحتية الرقمية وقدرتها على مواكبة النمو المتسارع في الخدمات الرقمية.

ويأتي ذلك بالتزامن مع تصدر المملكة المركز الأول عالمياً في مؤشر تنمية الاتصالات والتقنية لعام 2026 الصادر عن الاتحاد الدولي للاتصالات، متقدمة على 159 اقتصاداً عالمياً، بما يعكس كفاءة البنية التحتية الرقمية وجاهزيتها لدعم التحول الرقمي والنمو المستدام.

Internet speeds in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continued to achieve advanced levels, supported by the development of digital infrastructure. The "Internet Saudi Arabia 2025" report, in its fifth edition, issued by the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission, revealed that the median mobile internet download speed rose to 216 megabits per second compared to 203 megabits per second the previous year, ranking the Kingdom among the top five countries in the G20 in this index.

The report indicated that the average mobile internet data consumption per individual reached 53 gigabytes per month, which is approximately three times the global average, reflecting the continuous growth in the use of digital services and their applications. It noted that the median download speed via the fifth generation network (5G) reached 320 megabits per second, while the median response time for mobile internet was recorded at 24 milliseconds.

In the fixed internet sector, the median download speed increased to 151 megabits per second compared to 120.4 megabits per second the previous year, while the median upload speed reached 73 megabits per second, and the median response time was recorded at 8 milliseconds, according to data analysis by "Ookla."

The report pointed out that the total internet data traffic in the Kingdom reached 69 million terabytes, distributed with 56% for local data traffic and 44% for international data traffic, while the mobile and fixed internet networks shared the total data traffic equally at 50% each.

The Riyadh region topped the internet data traffic volume with 30.6%, followed by the Makkah region with 20.5%, and then the Eastern region with 16.8%.

The report highlighted that the activation rate of the sixth version of the Internet Protocol (IPv6) among users reached 67%, while the number of Saudi networks on the internet (ASN) reached about 200 networks, reflecting the development of digital infrastructure and its ability to keep pace with the accelerating growth in digital services.

This comes as the Kingdom ranked first globally in the Communications and Technology Development Index for 2026 issued by the International Telecommunication Union, surpassing 159 global economies, reflecting the efficiency of digital infrastructure and its readiness to support digital transformation and sustainable growth.
