احتفت مدينة روساريو الأرجنتينية، مسقط رأس النجم ليونيل ميسي، بإعادة ترميم وتدشين جدارية عملاقة تحمل صورته، وذلك قبل ساعات من خوض قائد المنتخب الأرجنتيني مباراة الدور ربع النهائي في بطولة كأس العالم أمام منتخب سويسرا.

وتغطي الجدارية مساحة تبلغ 534 متراً مربعاً، أي ما يعادل نحو 5748 قدماً مربعاً، وتزيّن أحد المباني في وسط مدينة روساريو، لتعد واحدة من أبرز الأعمال الفنية التي تخلّد مسيرة قائد منتخب الأرجنتين.

ترميم باستخدام 300 لتر من الطلاء

وقالت مارلين زورياغا، إحدى المشرفات على المشروع، إن الجدارية، التي رُسمت لأول مرة عام 2021، خضعت لعملية ترميم شاملة استُخدم خلالها نحو 300 لتر من الطلاء لإعادتها إلى رونقها.

وشهدت النسخة الجديدة من العمل الفني إضافة ثلاث نجوم على شعار قميص ميسي، في إشارة إلى تتويج الأرجنتين بكأس العالم ثلاث مرات، كما أضيفت في أعلى الجدارية كلمة «Gracias»، أي «شكراً» باللغة الإسبانية، تعبيراً عن الامتنان لما قدمه قائد «التانغو» لكرة القدم الأرجنتينية.

«من مجرة أخرى.. لكنه واحد منا»

ويحمل العمل الفني عنوان «من مجرة أخرى ومن مدينتي»، في إشارة إلى موهبة ميسي الاستثنائية، إلا أن الفنان ليساندرو أورتياغا، أحد المشاركين في تنفيذ الجدارية، أكد أن الرسالة تتجاوز الإشادة بقدراته الكروية.

وقال أورتياغا: «أطلقنا على الجدارية اسم (من مجرة أخرى)، لكن الحقيقة أنه إنسان مثلنا، واجه الكثير من التحديات منذ طفولته، ونشأ وسط عائلة متواضعة من الطبقة العاملة، واستطاع أن يتجاوز كل الصعوبات ويصل إلى القمة».

مسيرة بدأت في روساريو

ويُعد ميسي، البالغ من العمر 39 عاماً، أحد أعظم لاعبي كرة القدم في التاريخ، ونجح خلال البطولة الحالية في الانفراد بصدارة الهدافين التاريخيين لكأس العالم.

وبدأ قائد المنتخب الأرجنتيني مشواره الكروي في نادي نيولز أولد بويز بمدينة روساريو، قبل انتقاله إلى أكاديمية برشلونة الإسباني، حيث انطلقت مسيرته الاحترافية التي شهدت تحقيقه عشرات الألقاب الفردية والجماعية.

ويجسد ترميم الجدارية المكانة الاستثنائية التي يحظى بها ميسي في مدينته، التي لا تزال تعتبره أحد أبرز رموزها الرياضية وأكثر الشخصيات إلهاماً للأجيال الجديدة.

The Argentine city of Rosario, the birthplace of star Lionel Messi, celebrated the restoration and inauguration of a giant mural bearing his image, just hours before the Argentine national team captain played in the quarter-finals of the World Cup against Switzerland.

The mural covers an area of 534 square meters, equivalent to about 5,748 square feet, and adorns one of the buildings in downtown Rosario, making it one of the most prominent artworks commemorating the career of the Argentine national team captain.

Restoration using 300 liters of paint

Marlene Zuriaga, one of the supervisors of the project, stated that the mural, which was first painted in 2021, underwent a comprehensive restoration process during which approximately 300 liters of paint were used to restore its luster.

The new version of the artwork features the addition of three stars on Messi's jersey logo, referring to Argentina's three World Cup victories, and the word "Gracias," meaning "Thank you" in Spanish, was added at the top of the mural, expressing gratitude for what the captain of the Argentine "tango" football has contributed.

"From another galaxy... but he is one of us"

The artwork is titled "From Another Galaxy and From My City," referring to Messi's exceptional talent, but artist Lisandro Ortiaga, one of the contributors to the mural, emphasized that the message goes beyond praising his footballing abilities.

Ortiaga said, "We named the mural 'From Another Galaxy,' but the truth is he is a human like us, who faced many challenges since childhood, grew up in a humble working-class family, and managed to overcome all difficulties and reach the top."

A journey that began in Rosario

Messi, who is 39 years old, is considered one of the greatest football players in history, and during the current tournament, he has succeeded in becoming the all-time leading scorer in World Cup history.

The Argentine national team captain began his football journey at Newell's Old Boys in Rosario before moving to the FC Barcelona academy, where his professional career took off, achieving dozens of individual and team titles.

The restoration of the mural embodies the exceptional status Messi holds in his city, which still regards him as one of its most prominent sports icons and one of the most inspiring figures for new generations.
