وسط استمرار التصعيد وتمسك واشنطن وطهران بموقفيهما بشأن مضيق هرمز، من دون مؤشرات على استئناف قريب للمفاوضات، تناقضت الأنباء، اليوم (الأربعاء)، بشأن تمديد وقف إطلاق النار. ونقلت وكالة «رويترز»، عن مسؤول إيراني قوله: لم تجر مناقشات مع الأمريكيين لتمديد الهدنة. وأشار إلى أن من القضايا التي يجري مناقشتها عودة أمريكا لمذكرة التفاهم وتحديد إطار زمني لتنفيذ التزاماتها بموجبها. وأضاف، أن هذه المسألة لم تشهد «أي تقدم على الإطلاق».

فيما أكدت مصادر أمنية باكستانية أن وقف إطلاق النار الذي تم الاتفاق عليه في منتصف يونيو الماضي، سيتم تمديده.

ورجحت مصادر مطلعة لوكالة الأنباء الألمانية، اليوم، أن التمديد قد يستمر 60 أو حتى 90 يوماً إضافياً، لكنها أشارت إلى أنه لم يتم بعد حسم ما إذا كان سيتم الإعلان عن تمديد وقف إطلاق النار رسمياً.

ومن المقرر أن تنتهي في منتصف أغسطس الجاري مهلة الـ60 يوماً المخصصة للمفاوضات، والتي نص عليها في الأصل الاتفاق الإطاري بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران.

وقال المتحدث باسم الخارجية الباكستانية طاهر أندرابي، إن مذكرة التفاهم المؤلفة من 14 بنداً، يمكن أن تظل أساساً للعودة إلى المفاوضات رغم انهيارها بعد أيام من توقيعها.

بالتزامن مع ذلك، واصل وزير الداخلية الباكستاني محسن نقوي، أمس زيارته إلى طهران، ضمن جهود إسلام آباد من أجل التوصل إلى تسوية للحرب في الشرق الأوسط وخفض التوتر بين إيران والولايات المتحدة.

ورغم أن أزمة»هرمز«لاتزال تراوح مكانها، ذكرت تقارير أن التوصل إلى اتفاق بين إيران وسلطنة عُمان بشأن الملاحة عبر مضيق هرمز بات وشيكاً. وقالت مصادر أمنية باكستانية إن من الممكن التوصل إلى الاتفاق قبل يوم السبت القادم.

وجدد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب التأكيد، أمس، على أن الولايات المتحدة تسيطر على مضيق هرمز بشكل كامل، وقال إنها ستواصل السيطرة عليه.

ووصف في منشور على منصة»تروث سوشيال«الحصار الذي تفرضه القوات الأمريكية على إيران بأنه»جدار من فولاذ«، وقال إن إيران لا تستطيع فعل أي شيء حياله.

وأضاف: «ليس لديهم أسطول بحري، ولا سلاح جو، وجنودهم الباقون لا يتقاضون رواتبهم، والحرس الثوري الإيراني مُنهك ويهرب، وقيادتهم غير مستقرة». وأكد ترمب أن «كل ما لديهم هو أخبار كاذبة وتضخم بنسبة 300%، والوضع يزداد سوءاً! إيران مجرد كلام بلا فعل».

Amid the ongoing escalation and the steadfast positions of Washington and Tehran regarding the Strait of Hormuz, with no signs of a near resumption of negotiations, reports today (Wednesday) contradicted each other regarding the extension of the ceasefire. The "Reuters" agency quoted an Iranian official stating: No discussions have taken place with the Americans regarding the extension of the truce. He indicated that among the issues being discussed is the return of the U.S. to the memorandum of understanding and setting a timeline for fulfilling its commitments under it. He added that this matter has seen "no progress whatsoever."

Meanwhile, Pakistani security sources confirmed that the ceasefire agreed upon in mid-June will be extended.

Informed sources suggested to the German news agency today that the extension could last for an additional 60 or even 90 days, but they pointed out that it has not yet been decided whether the extension of the ceasefire will be officially announced.

The 60-day deadline allocated for negotiations, originally stipulated in the framework agreement between the United States and Iran, is set to expire in mid-August.

Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Andrabi stated that the 14-point memorandum of understanding could remain a basis for returning to negotiations despite its collapse just days after being signed.

Simultaneously, Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi continued his visit to Tehran yesterday as part of Islamabad's efforts to reach a settlement for the war in the Middle East and reduce tensions between Iran and the United States.

Although the "Hormuz" crisis remains stagnant, reports indicated that an agreement between Iran and Oman regarding navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is imminent. Pakistani security sources mentioned that the agreement could be reached before next Saturday.

U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated yesterday that the United States fully controls the Strait of Hormuz, stating that it will continue to maintain that control.

In a post on the "Truth Social" platform, he described the blockade imposed by U.S. forces on Iran as a "steel wall," asserting that Iran cannot do anything about it.

He added: "They have no naval fleet, no air force, their remaining soldiers are not being paid, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is exhausted and fleeing, and their leadership is unstable." Trump affirmed that "all they have is fake news and 300% inflation, and the situation is getting worse! Iran is just talk without action."
