حسم الاتحاد الإنجليزي لكرة القدم مستقبل المدير الفني الألماني توماس توخيل، بعدما قرر الإبقاء عليه في منصبه رغم خروج منتخب إنجلترا من الدور نصف النهائي لبطولة كأس العالم 2026 بالخسارة أمام الأرجنتين بنتيجة 2-1.

وذكرت صحيفة «ديلي ميل» البريطانية أن توخيل لا يزال يحظى بثقة مسؤولي الاتحاد الإنجليزي، الذين قرروا استمرار المشروع الفني بقيادته، بغض النظر عن نتيجة مباراة تحديد المركز الثالث أمام فرنسا أو ما إذا كان المنتخب سينهي البطولة على منصة التتويج.

The British newspaper "Daily Mail" reported that Tuchel still enjoys the confidence of the FA officials, who have decided to continue the technical project under his leadership, regardless of the outcome of the third-place match against France or whether the team will finish the tournament on the podium.

England lost the chance to reach the World Cup final after being defeated by the Argentine team in a strong semi-final match, setting up a date with France in the third-place playoff scheduled for July 19, 2026.

According to the report, FA officials believe that evaluating Tuchel's experience should not be linked to the result of a single match, but rather to the project he started when he took over the national team in January 2025, which aims to build a team capable of competing for major titles in the coming years.

Tuchel is considered one of the top coaches in Europe, having led several major clubs, including Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund, during which he achieved numerous titles, most notably the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea in 2021.
