اضطر النجم الأمريكي جورج كلوني وزوجته المحامية أمل إلى إخلاء منزلهما في بلدة بريغنول جنوب فرنسا، بعدما اقتربت حرائق الغابات من المنطقة، وسط حالة من القلق بشأن مصير العقار الذي وصفاه بـ«المنزل الجميل».
إقامة دائمة
ويعيش الزوجان، في البلدة مع توأمهما ألكسندر وإيلا (9 أعوام)، بعدما اشتريا العقار عام 2021 في مقابل نحو 8.3 ملايين دولار. وتمتد الملكية على مساحة تقارب 425 فداناً، وتضم قصراً يعود إلى القرن الثامن عشر، إلى جانب مسبح وملعب تنس وحدائق واسعة وبحيرة اصطناعية.
وكان كلوني وأفراد عائلته قد انتقلوا للإقامة الدائمة في الريف الفرنسي العام الماضي، بعد مغادرتهم الولايات المتحدة، كما حصلوا على الجنسية الفرنسية في 2025.
موجة حر قياسية
وجاء الإخلاء في ظل موجة حر قياسية تضرب جنوب أوروبا، ساهمت إلى جانب الجفاف الشديد والرياح القوية، في انتشار حرائق واسعة.
وفي فرنسا، أُجبر نحو 224 ألف شخص على مغادرة منازلهم في منطقة جيروند جنوب غرب البلاد، فيما أُخلي نحو 3 آلاف شخص من منطقة بروفانس ألب كوت دازور، حيث يقع منزل آل كلوني.
وأتت أكبر الحرائق، المندلعة قرب مدينة بوردو، على أكثر من 42 ألف هكتار، أي ما يعادل نحو أربعة أضعاف مساحة باريس، فيما حذرت السلطات من أن استمرار ارتفاع درجات الحرارة وتقلب اتجاهات الرياح قد يؤدي إلى اندلاع بؤر جديدة، رغم التقدم في احتواء أجزاء من النار.
حياة هادئة
وكشف كلوني في مقابلة سابقة بأن انتقاله إلى فرنسا جاء رغبة في منح طفليه حياة أكثر هدوءاً بعيداً من أجواء الشهرة في هوليوود، مؤكداً أنه لا يريد لهما أن يكبرا تحت ضغط عدسات المصورين أو مقارنة الناس لهما بأبناء المشاهير.
American star George Clooney and his lawyer wife Amal were forced to evacuate their home in the town of Brignoles in southern France, as wildfires approached the area, amid concerns about the fate of the property they described as "the beautiful home."
Permanent Residence
The couple lives in the town with their twins Alexander and Ella (9 years old), after purchasing the property in 2021 for about $8.3 million. The estate spans nearly 425 acres and includes an 18th-century mansion, along with a swimming pool, a tennis court, extensive gardens, and an artificial lake.
Clooney and his family moved to permanent residence in the French countryside last year after leaving the United States, and they obtained French citizenship in 2025.
Record Heat Wave
The evacuation came amid a record heat wave hitting southern Europe, which, along with severe drought and strong winds, contributed to the spread of extensive wildfires.
In France, about 224,000 people were forced to leave their homes in the Gironde region in the southwest of the country, while around 3,000 people were evacuated from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, where the Clooney family's home is located.
The largest fires, raging near the city of Bordeaux, have consumed more than 42,000 hectares, which is roughly four times the area of Paris, while authorities warned that the continued rise in temperatures and shifting wind directions could lead to the outbreak of new hotspots, despite progress in containing parts of the fire.
Quiet Life
Clooney revealed in a previous interview that his move to France was motivated by a desire to give his children a quieter life away from the fame of Hollywood, emphasizing that he does not want them to grow up under the pressure of photographers' lenses or to be compared by people to the children of celebrities.
